mHealth, or mobile health, is the use of mobile devices to provide healthcare and preventive health services. It can include smartphones, tablets, and other wireless technologies, such as wearable medical devices. The integration of these technologies in healthcare aims to improve access to care, enhance the quality of services, and promote better health outcomes.
This particular guide can be used to design/evaluate/adapt any mHealth intervention, but here we provide specific direction on how you can create a texting intervention with a chatbot. As this guide is used for other types of mHealth interventions we will provide additional instructions for new and different mHealth innovations.
This presentation from Dr. Patricia Mechael at TechChange gives a great brief overview why mHealth interventions can be effective - most individuals have the technology to take part!
